Sewing
Sewing has become increasingly popular after the movie Strangeland with Dee Snider in which a deranged man sews his victims lips shut. Sewing has been widely used for several centuries as a form of protest in prison. Prisoners would sew their lips shut to prevent being force-fed when on a hunger strike. Modern day Body Mod conventions and S&M dungeons often contain areas for sewing. Common body parts to bew sewn are the eyes, lips and labia. Also gaining popularity is sewing designs into the skin.
Sewing needles range in size from acupunture needles (#29) to big behemoth needles (#14) and depends on the persons preferences. Common thread types include vinyl, plastic and fishingline.
